Week 4

Week 4 was when we were focusing on bringing all our works together in class. Most of the group had already done their work and were just missing a few bits and pieces, so we spent most of class helping each other out with problem areas of the assessment (like the floor plan) and the rest of it focused on how we would connect all our works together. Some ideas came naturally to us, like the layout out of our infographics, but others came harder. We’d drawn in my book a few ways we could tackle the layouts and even allocated each person which week they would be doing. Overall, it was a very productive lesson, but we still had much to do at home.

Back to the site once again, this time around we had to create a map of our site with exact dimension and boundaries. It was for another portion of the assessment where we had to create a floor plan using illustrator. Our site was quite small, so my group didn’t have that much trouble mapping out the site for the most part. What we had trouble on was what our correct scale should be and where our boundaries are. The former was the bigger issue, and because of that, we had to redo our floor plan a number of times before we came to a rough final with a correct scaling of 1 box = 1 metre. The latter was easy enough to solve after looking at the site map a few times.

Week 2

For Week 2, it was back to the site. We had to take photos of certain things within the site based on design principles or objects located within the site. Afterwards in class, we moved on to the beginnings of the next portion of the assessment where we were to make an infographic based on a particular data set. My data set was based on Transport modes in UNSW. We had to make up 3 words that can describe our data set, and then search up an image online that relates to that word that we can get a colour palette from.

Week 1

This week we started off by being put into groups and getting familiar with our site. We had to draw a few abstract sketches and take a few photos in preparation for our Photoshop portion for Assessment 1
